Ik sprak laatst een dame die zei: als ik eerlijk ben, kijk ik met jaloezie naar social media en zie ik al die mooie plaatjes voorbij komen van gezellige gezinnetjes en happy couples. En dan denk ik: shit, dat wil ik ook, maar heb ik niet! Wat moet ik daar nou mee?<\/p>\n

Een supereerlijke vraag, die ik overigens vaak krijg, maar waar een hoop schaamte op zit. Want geef het maar eens toe, aan jezelf of anderen, dat je jaloers bent op je vriendin en haar happy gezin. Dat in zichzelf is al een grote stap: het erkennen van de emotie.<\/p>\n

Alles goed en wel, wat moet je nou met die social media? Van je telefoon af?<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Welnu, dat kan natuurlijk. Als dat goed voelt tenminste.<\/p>\n

Maar waar het natuurlijk echt om gaat, is om wat je met die jaloezie moet. Jaloezie is de emotie die je in het moment voelt en die je mag erkennen. Vaak zit er echter onder deze emotie een andere emotie, bijvoorbeeld verdriet. Je ervaart een gemis en dat is verdrietig. Ga voor jezelf eens na: wat wil deze jaloezie mij eigenlijk vertellen? Wat is het dat ik werkelijk voel? Draait het echt om jaloezie, of zit er iets anders onder?<\/p>\n

De gedachten die je hebt, als je de picture perfect gezinnetjes \/stelletjes ziet, zijn meestal niet helpend. Iets in de trant van: zij wel, ik niet. Gemis, tekort, onvoldoende punten gescoord. Die gedachten mag je gaan loslaten. Loslaten doe je als volgt: je erkent dat ze er zijn, je laat ze er ook even zijn, en dan laat je ze liefdevol los. Thanks, but no thanks. Dat idee.<\/p>\n

Daarnaast ga je aan de slag met het opvullen van wat je mist. Wat zou je willen? Kun je inventieve manieren vinden om daar te komen? Bedenk: als je doet wat je altijd deed, krijg je wat je altijd kreeg \u2013 dus je zult het anders moeten aanpakken.
